The Grays Harbor County Fair Board is committed to
encouraging and rewarding the young adults of our Fair Community who seek to achieve their
greatest potential. The Grays Harbor County Fair Board welcomes these young citizens to
work alongside its members, so that we can provide the best Fair possible as we strive to
accomplish our mission of : Education, Entertainment and Exhibition.
Who may apply for this scholarship?
The Scholarship Committee may award at least one scholarship to an incoming college
freshman or first year trade school apprentice. Applicants for this scholarship must have
involvement in the Grays Harbor County Fair as an exhibitor in the prior year’s Fair with
participation as either an enrolled 4-H member, Grays Harbor County FFA member or Open
Class exhibitor.
The number and monetary amount awarded will be determined by the Grays Harbor County
Fair Board Scholarship Committee. The minimum award will be $1000. You may only receive
this scholarship once.
How do I apply for this scholarship?
The candidate should make a copy of and complete the accompanying application and
compose the required essay. The candidate must also submit a copy of their official letter of
acceptance from their prospective school, or a copy of your next semester’s class schedule.
What is the timeline for the scholarship application?
The submission deadline is May 2nd, 2025. Scholarship recipients' school will be notified by
May 19th. The recipients will be required to attend the Grays Harbor County Fair Opening
Ceremony for the public announcement and awarding of the Scholarship. The check will be
made payable to the recipient's educational institution after proof of enrollment has been
provided. Awards not claimed by January 1, 2026 will be considered not accepted and
returned to the Fair Board unless the recipient communicates with the Fair Board for an
extension.

How are scholarship winners chosen?
Scholarship applications will be submitted to a committee consisting of Fair Board members
and/or Fair staff for review. Candidate names will be omitted to ensure that applications are
judged on responses provided.
